I dont remember what they usually say: "Drivers start your engines! " or "Gentleman start your engines! "

I'd imagine they use both, except when there is a girl in the race (Danica Patrick, Chrissy Wallace) they might tell the Grand Marshal to say Drivers instead of Gentlemen just to not sound sexist.

Gentlemen is traditional. Drivers is the new pc command. Mostly people still use gentlemen.

It's up to the person calling it . There is no rule for what to say but don't say Gentlemen if there are any women in the field.
