Nascar: why is carl wrecking brad part of racing but?

Question: Nascar: why is carl wrecking brad part of racing but?

(Posted by: JDUBYA! on 2010-03-09 11:20:40)

What happened earlier in the race isn't? It seems like what is more a part of racing is what happened earlier in the race after a restart when there was contact between the two drivers. Where does that part of racing fit in? Or is that the part of racing that merits retaliation? I guess so since nothing was done to Carl. So what's next? Doesn't Brad have a very good reason to really go after CArl now intentionally? Some of the other stuff has been blamed on Brad and I hear all this stuff about all the other drivers wanted to do the same thing. Well then why haven't all the other drivers made it known that they don't like Brad? Why haven't they crashed him? The only drivers that I know Brad has had a problem with is the Gibbs guys and thats mostly in Nationwide. So where does all of this come from? What do you think should be a bigger part of racing? Rubbing and racing hard in close quarters. Or retaliating after some contact when cars are rubbing and racing hard in close quarters.

It just depends on who does it. If NASCAR doesn't like a driver then they will say he crossed the line. In other words it's not okay for Dale Earnhardt Jr to do it but it is okay for Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski to do it. There is a line you can cross but you just don't know what the line is. NASCAR doesn't know what the line is. Same thing with last year's drug testing policy. There was a line the drivers couldn't cross there.. But yet NASCAR chose one driver (Jeremy Mayfield) and said he crossed a line with a list that wasn't even available. Simple. Brian France and Mike Helton are idiots. I actually like Mike Helton. It's Brian France who is the idiot. I think Mike is just Brian's puppet for cases like this.

That was not part of racing, that was a decision to intentionaly cause harm or injury.

This was a feud that went back to the previous year....Pay backs are a bitc*...Carl should of been fined and points taken away...Thats my opinon..

Um, KeseLousy and Edwards have had run-ins in past Nationwide events too. I think these were before Talledega, even. I don't mind either one. I like the idea of drivers policing each other, kinda like hockey & hockey fights. Yes, you can get seriously hurt, but this possibility is what you signed up for when you got into auto racing. They probably didn't suspend Carl because he's a cash crop for NASCAR. Yes, KeseLousy has a reason to wreck Edwards in the future, but he probably shouldn't unless the situation warrants such measures (like a final laps battle for position). He has enough enemies as it is whether he likes it or not.

I guess us the fans are the ones who need protection from the drivers.Of course when nascar ever starts thinking about the fans instead of their wallets.

My guess is the meeting among NASCAR, Roush (and Edwards), and Penske (and Brad) will lay out pretty much the "do it again, either one of you, and it isn't going to be over looked. Cut it out ". Penske didn't defend Brad much in the Victory Lane show after the race but he didn't blame Carl either. I know Penske sees the big picture: those kinds of wrecks/ rubbin' is racin' not only have potential for disaster for a driver, it totally wrecks assets worth mega bucks. I'm sure by the time this next meeting is over Carl and Brad will have received the "Knock it off " from several sides.

In a morbid kind of way you can simply say that they are even now. Brad flipped Carl last year at Talladega and now Carl flipped Brad in Atlanta. As someone else already stated, I'm sure NASCAR has gotten with both drivers, teams and owners and has put their foot down. If either one of them rubs the other in the wrong way, there will be retributions. A lot like baseball when pitchers are plunking the other team. After the second team gets their plunk in, the umpire will issue his warning and next pitch too far inside will result in ejections.

Ok...boss2k. this is simple. Brad didnt flip Carl at Dega. Carl did that to himself as he did in the first incident Sunday. Brad never came up off the yellow line. Carls argument was that he didnt let off to let him in....and thats hard to do im sure at 170+ Carl came down. I watched replay after replay...Carl came down. As he did at Dega. He went to block and Brad didnt move. and HE SHOULDNT. These guys just want to punk others and Brad doesnt take it. And not defend Carl but the wing helped Brads flip i am sure.
