Should i start watching nascar again?

Question: Should i start watching nascar again?

(Posted by: CTownBoy on 2010-02-08 14:20:35)

I used to be a die hard fan but in the last couple years i went from barely watching to not watching at all. last year i just watched the daytona 500 and then lost interest completely. but they made a bunch of changes recently to try to make it more competetive and exciting. they also have danica racing this week. should i invest my time into nascar again or is it still going to be what its been for the past couple of years? also is dale jr any closer to actually driving well?

You should start watching it again. There has only been one race so far this season (and it was only the Bud Shootout, which is a practice race), and I can already tell that this is going to be a great season. NASCAR stepped back on all of their strict rules and now the racing is much better. We don't know about Jr. yet. The season didn't start, so we will have to wait and see.

I think you should get back into it! The more fans the merrier, haha. Danica is adding a twist to the Nationwide series and i was supprised at how well she did this past weekend. I'm gaining a little more respect for the "go daddy girl " :P Jr. was fastest at the first practice at Daytona but he didn't do so hot at the bud shootout. We'll see whats all going on on sunday. hopefully he's getting his act together :)

You werent ever a die hard fan or you would've never stopped watching in the first place. If your not interested in it then stop wondering about it. If you are interested then you should've never stopped watching. You missed a lot. Jimmie Johnson won the championship not 1,2,3 but 4 TIMES!!!! Now would be a perfect time for you to get back man. Someone is going to knock off JJ this year. Don't you want to see history? As far as Jr goes. Only time will tell what is really going on there, but I would say that his team made strides toward the end of last year and they seem to have a good car for the Daytona 500 this year. Oh yeah, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin are still crybaby's so nothing really changed there during your absence.

No. Don't waste your time. NASCAR is something that you either love or you don't.

Best thing I can say is to GO to a race! That is what snagged me as a lifetime fan. I do honestly see what people say about it being boring on TV... IF they have not been to a race and cannot fully appreciate the speed and complexity of what is going on! Go to a race... FEEL the thump on your chest every time a car flies by... SEE a snarled ball of carnage and metal wreck right in front of your eyes... SMELL the rubber and exhaust burning all day long... HEAR, well that speaks for itself (though you might not hear anything the day after)... THEN... you'll be a fan again! Trust me.

I'm in the same shoes as you. I was a huge die-hard fan until Dale then I started to lose some interest. I started rooting for Harvick but I wasn't into it like I was before and to top it all off with Hendricks winning everything I just lost interest cuz you almost already knew who was gonna win races and the Hendricks Cup (or whatever they call it now). Back in the early 90's when I first got into nascar it wasn't as popular and now it seems to have gone to mainstream to me. I liked the days of Jenkins, Parsons and Ned Jarrett.

No. Waste of time. Why watch the first 499 miles when it takes only 30 seconds to find out who won? Waste of time, resources, etc. A real race is done in a few seconds not 4 hours...

Heck no the cars are all the same now and the Evil Empire has won four straight championsips. More interesting to watch water polo.
