I agree that it's natural for drivers to be mad after they have been in a wreck, but it needs to end there, be angry and get over it. Racing is racing, and I am sure Carl had no intention of wrecking anybody, come on, he was second in the points and wouldn't want to wreck himself. It is absolutely inappropriate that any type of altercation took place. I am a Carl Edwards fan and believe he drives with respect towards all the other drivers, it was just a mistake...it happens sometimes.

When a driver makes a mistake that results in the destruction of other drivers cars it is perfectly normal for some of the wrecked drivers to be mad and complain about the wreck to the press. It isn't normal for a driver to give another driver's jet pilot a smart alec note. It isn't normal for a driver to go into another drivers garage to make trouble. It isn't normal to grab a driver when he turns to walk away no matter what he said. This brings back memories of the Carl and Kenseth deal. I was starting to like Carl but he is too much of a hot head for me.

Isn't this the same kind of deal that Carl handed Kenseth last year? I am thinking so, just glad it wasn't Tony. Again.

I agree with beth above and would like to add that finally harvick can say he beat edwards this year. heck, this is his first victory since daytona 2007. way to go harv!!! show them mid-western boys that you don't go messing with desert rats... ;-)

I like what Beth said. She's right. You can't expect anyone to be happy after being taken out of a race, and possibly a chance at a championship because of someone else's "mistake ". Everyone else was thinking the same thing about Edwards on sunday, Kevin was just the only one who had the nerve to say it. Besides Edwards was the one who started the whole incident today. He's the one that came over to Harvick, and then grabbed him. The dude had it coming. WTG Kevin! BTW I don't see what the Johnson/ Harvick incident during the dule back in 05 had to do with this. That wasn't even Harvicks fault.

I think Kevin Harvick said things in the heat of the moment that he shouldnt have said, much like Carl Edwards made a mistake in the race. I dont know what was said between them, but it seems to me that if Carl went over there it was to discuss what happened and what Kevin said. I dont think there were any ill intentions on Carl's fault and I hate to blame it on Kevin but he seems to be the one that gets in the most turmoil and the person that gets into the most fights and arguements because he is more flagarant in what he says.

I'd love to see the pictures. I think more and more Carl's aw shucks facade is dropping off and folks are seeing that he is tempermental at best. Biffle said it during the Kenseth incident and it still holds, we see what Carl wants seen and oops if it happens to be negative, then he will try and smooth it over so he is still the little Opie everyone loves.

Kevin said something in the heat of the moment that probably shouldnt have been said. ANd Carl was going to recipricate on it. Hasnt he learned his lesson yet??? Apparently not. Heck Junior said something negative to the effect also. What is he going to do to him. Have a confrontation with him also. What Carl did was a bonehead move, he is going to get alot of slack, he should just deal with it.

I find it good for the media, good for Chase ratings to see controversy in the midst of a Chase. That was funny when he called Edwards a pansy.

This ain't surprising. Carl pissed Harvick off last week. So Kevin's still mad, but getting into an "alteration " with Carl of all people ain't going to help.

Kevin has always been a hot-head and Carl has his moments, but I don't think it should've went that far.Don't get me wrong,I would have loved to have seen it(hehe)and it does bring some drama to the Chase, but Carl probably should have let what Kevin said go.How many times have drivers(including Carl) said things like that after on-track incidents? It is a sport that these drivers are passionate about and they get upset when someone makes a move that is questionable that tears up their cars, puts them in danger, and takes them out of contention for a win(or championship).Kevin has done the same thing in the past, but that doesn't make what Carl did right either. They should both let it go and move on.If not, they are going to let their emotions get the best of them on the track and that is just going to take them(and possibly others)out of contention for the championship.

Carl had no business first, putting a note in Kevins private plane and 2nd putting his hands on Kevin when Kevin walked away from him. From Marty Smiths report on NASCAR Now, Kevin was talking the high road and leaving and Carl played the idiot.

I think it's funny how you all bash on Carl for this, when he admitted he messed up and appologized but Harvick still has to run his mouth...he had it coming for him. Just shut your mouth and you won't have to worry about it. If this were Jr. doing the exact same thing to Harvick, you all would be be taking Jr's side. Don't be hipocrits

Apparently you missed the part about Carl putting a smart@$$ note in Kevin Harvick's plane. He had already screwed up but then he had to go and rub salt in it. It was stupid of Carl to do that, how did he think Kevin was going to react? THEN, Carl went to HIS garge stall, grabbed Kevin by the shoulder and turned him around before Happy responded. The incident that started all this, the big wreck, would have been bad anytime of the year but it basically ruined 3 or 4 driver's chances at winning the championship. The ironic thing is the guy that started it all is still in the thick of things. Carl really should not have tried to be funny or cutesy about what he did, it was no joking matter. 3 STR8 N 08!!!

I think that Harvick shouldn't have called Edwards a pansy after the race. If he wouldn't have said that then Edwards would have went to his garage to talk to him about it. I am sure any guy would admit that he doesn't like being called a pansy. The thing is that Edwards admitted that the wreck was his fault and he apologized. Harvick should have thought about what he said before he said it. They were both in the wrong. Harvick shouldn't have made an immature remark and Edwards shouldn't have gotten so angry and reacted as he did.
