Question: Kasey kahne to toyota is official.?

(Posted by: Austin S on 2009-08-12 12:53:59)

Kasey was taking publicity photos with a No.9 Camry sponsored by Budweiser. Thoughts? Comments? Questions? Will he be able to keep up with Hendrick now? I think so. By the way NASCAR Nation.......RPM is not Petty's team, it's owned 90 % or so by George Gillett Jr., and a few investors. Less than 1 % of it is Petty's, they kept him for the name. This is Gillet Motorsports basically. It's on Jayski. And Kahne girl, I have had a problem with you in the past. Did he outrun Hendrick at Pocono in June, Michigan, New Hampshire, Daytona, Chicago, Indy, or Watkins Glen? Huh? http:/ / jayski.com/ cupnews.htm#news43wed

They won't be able to run with Hendrick or Gibbs, but they will be much better off. You're right. It bugs me the way Petty is tied in with this team. To me, it's still Evernham Motorsports with George Gillette handling the money.

I think your jumping the gun a bit there. Nothing is official yet. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 Notebook: RPM Still Talking To Toyota Multiple sources at Richard Petty Motorsports tell Sirius Speedway that RPM is still mulling the possibility of moving its entire operation to the Toyota camp in 2010. RPM spokesmen have downplayed reports of a possible manufacturer switch in recent weeks, but sources say that talks are ongoing with both Dodge and Toyota. No decisions have been made, but in an attempt to cover all their bases, the team recently had a series of publicity photos taken of Kasey Kahne and a Budweiser-sponsored #9 Toyota Camry.

Anyone who knows much about Nascar already knows about your second comment. Richard Petty admitted as much after Kasey's win at Sonoma. As for Kasey driving a Toyota, it has only been finalized that he will drive the #38 Great Clips Toyota for Braun Racing in Nationwide for 8 races next year. I know that it will bother a lot of people, but I am of the mindset that whatever advances Kasey is fine. If he can get more wins in a Camry than a Charger, so be it. My only concern is that Kasey is given the proper equipment to win. He has shown more than enough that he has the skills and talent to win. He hasn't however always been given the equipment. I believe that it will come to pass, because Toyota and Budweiser don't just throw this kind of money around. I will be glad to see it. I think asking if Kasey can keep up with Hendrick is fairly insulting. He beat all their drivers at Sonoma in the current equipment, so he can definitely do that. Please stop underestimating him. Kasey is an awesome driver. Of course, Toyota will help him, but he has been doing really well since Richmond. The equipment has improved.

RPM isn't officially switching to Toyota yet. Like the others have said it was more of a publicity thing.

I don't think you would be posing for pictures if you weren't commited to the change. Those photos would instantly become a PR nightmare for the other manufacturer. As for keeping up, no. The team is not a championship level team. Unless RPM can develop a relationship with Gibbs, then its not going to make that large of a difference.
